This workshop is designed to equip participants with strategies on how to discuss inflammatory issues in meaningful conversations rather than confrontational debates.
Strategies that will be covered:
Emotional Regulation: The workshop will teach techniques for managing emotions during conversations. Open-Ended Questions: Instead of asking questions that can be answered with a simple "yes" or "no," participants will learn to ask open-ended questions that encourage deeper discussion and exploration of ideas. Respectful Language: Emphasis will be placed on using language that is respectful and non-confrontational. Finding Common Ground: Participants will be guided on how to identify shared values or goals, which can help bridge differences and foster a collaborative atmosphere. De-escalation Techniques: The workshop will cover methods for calming tense situations. By utilizing this toolbox, participants will be better equipped to navigate difficult conversations in a purposeful and intentional manner.
