Keely Rees, PhD, MCHES®, is the Associate Dean for Faculty and Staff Advancement and Professor of Health Management and Policy in the College of Public Health at the University of Kentucky. A nationally recognized leader in health education and public health advocacy, Dr. Rees brings more than two decades of experience in faculty development, academic leadership, and applied public health research. Her work blends maternal and child health, reproductive health, adolescent well-being, health equity, and policy-driven public health education with a strong foundation in organizational well-being and leadership mentoring.
Dr. Rees is co-editor of Be the Change: Putting Health Advocacy, Policy, and Community Organization into Practice (Oxford University Press), and co-author of the 2020 Code of Ethics for the Health Education Profession. She has led national efforts to advance the health education field and continues to support faculty and staff in writing for impact, securing foundation grants, and building collaborative, sustainable initiatives.
Known for her compassionate and inclusive leadership style, Dr. Rees helps individuals and organizations grow capacity for mission-aligned, meaningful work. Her passion lies in creating spaces where people thrive—and where research, advocacy, and teaching intersect to support public health at every level.
