Dr. Melissa Haithcox-Dennis is an Associate Professor of Community Health at Fayetteville State University, where she coordinates the BS in Public Health program. She earned her doctoral degree in health education from Southern Illinois University - Carbondale. Dr. H-D has over two decades of experience in linking classroom innovation, community engagement, and technology integration. She focuses on preparing culturally responsive health educators to address equity in diverse communities. A dedicated mentor, Dr. Haithcox-Dennis has guided students through internships, research, and professional development opportunities, emphasizing mentoring as a key strategy for strengthening the public health workforce.
