.Dr. Andrea McDonald, Ph.D., CHES, is an Associate Professor and inaugural Assistant Director in the School of Public and Allied Health at Prairie View A&M University. She holds a Ph.D. in Health Education from Texas A&M University. Her research focuses on food preparation literacy, health literacy, social determinants of health, mental health, and school health using community participatory methods. She led the MPH program’s development, integrated AI-driven experiential learning, and created culturally tailored school feeding guides. She serves as National CECH Subcommittee Chair, Chair of the Public Health/Community Nutrition Practice Group, Chair-Elect of the Research Association of Minority Professors, and the American Public Health Association.
