Dr. Georgia Halkia is an Assistant Professor of Public Health at Utah Valley University. She holds a Ph.D. in Public Health from UC Irvine, an MPH in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, and a BA in Human Services with a minor in Gerontology. She developed and directed the Community Health Worker program at Orange Coast College, partnering with CalOptima, First Five, and regional colleges to create digital credentials that translate into workforce-ready skills. She also served as Director of Operations for the CSUF Center for Healthy Neighborhoods, working directly with vulnerable populations to address community needs. Her teaching and research on health disparities, program evaluation, and community capacity building are driven by her passion for empowering communities.
