Jamesha Barrett is a Master of Public Health student at the University of New Haven with a strong interest in evidence-based health promotion and equity. As a research fellow at the WeEmbody Lab, she contributes to research focused on mental health, nutrition policy and social determinants of health. Her photovoice study, “Through Their Lens: Exploring Food Access Challenges Among International Students”, was selected by the Public Health Education and Health Promotion Section for an oral presentation at the 2025 APHA Annual Meeting leading to her receipt of the PHEHP Student Award. She serves as conference planning committee member at the New England Rural Health Association and an intern at the Connecticut Chapter of SOPHE, supporting initiatives that advance health education and equity.
