Chicago, Illinois, United States
Emily Hoover, MHA is the Quality Improvement Coordinator for the Illinois Department of Public Health, following a career in direct patient services as administrator of a large private psychological practice. She was drawn to this field when she obtained her master’s in healthcare administration at the University of Illinois at Chicago’s School of Public Health. There, her research focused on shifts in health care delivery in the US and implications for private practitioners in the age of big data and team-based care models. Emily later presented on her findings at the 2023 Illinois Psychological Association’s Convention. Now, she works with teams across IDPH to find innovative ways to streamline workflows and maintain IDPH’s accreditation through the Public Health Accreditation Board.
