Rochelle Davidson Mhonde, PhD, is an applied health communication scholar focusing on sexual, reproductive, maternal, and mental health inequities rooted in intersecting systems of oppression. She employs mixed methods and community-based approaches to develop culturally responsive, digital, and youth-centered interventions. With a background in global health, risk, and strategic communication, Dr. Davidson Mhonde uses implementation science to create context-specific interventions for marginalized communities. As Principal Investigator of a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation award and other projects, she studies stigma around sex and gender-based violence (SGBV), HIV/AIDS, disclosure, help-seeking, and social support for youth victims/survivors. She specializes in integrating digital health innovation and equity-driven communication strategies across communities, academic settings, and policy environments.
