Dr. Shameika Williams, Ed.D., MPH, is an innovative tenure-track Assistant Professor of Public Health at SUNY Old Westbury with over 15 years of experience in public health, particularly in program planning. She earned her doctorate in Health Education from Columbia University Teachers College. Her research focuses on maternal and child health and the impact of mass incarceration, especially its effects on family and community well-being. Rooted in social justice, her work includes leading community-based interventions such as baby showers and providing maternal and child health training for students. A dedicated mentor, Dr. Williams offers students hands-on research experience. As a mother of five, she brings both lived experience and academic expertise to advancing health equity
