Dr. Yuka Polovina is a research faculty at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa’s Department of Public Health Sciences. Through the Hawai‘i Public Health Collaboration, she works on academic and career pipelines and pathways in public health. She is a mission-driven team member who believes that addressing gaps in Hawai‘i’s public health workforce and raising the visibility of the public health field among youth are key to improving health disparities across the islands. Dr. Polovina also engages with campus students around menstrual equity efforts and related research. Outside of work, Dr. Polovina enjoys reading, watching sports (especially women's competitions and the Olympics), and being active with her family.
