Andrew Kaczynski is an associate professor in the Department of Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior, a co-investigator with the CDC-funded Prevention Research Center, and Director of the Built Environment and Community Health (BEACH) Laboratory within the Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina. His research interests focus on environmental and policy influences on physical activity, obesity, and chronic disease prevention with a strong emphasis on environmental justice. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed journal articles and presented over 150 times to both academic and professional audiences, and his research has been supported by the National Institutes of Health and diverse foundations at the federal, state, and local level.
