Antonio J. Gardner is an Associate Professor in the Department of Community Medicine and Population Health and Director of Education and Evaluation for Rural Programs at The University of Alabama. He currently serves as the Co-Associate Editor of Social Media/Podcast for Health Promotion Practice, and he is the Vice Chair of the Steering Committee for the HESPA III Validation Study. Gardner’s research interests are in health equity with a specific focus on improved quality of life of rural and/or African American populations. Some topics of interest to him include the Black church’s response to the Jackson Water Crisis, HIV disclosure, COVID-19 prevention, and drowning prevention
