Chiamaka Akosa (she/her/hers)

Chiamaka Akosa is currently an M.D Candidate at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Lexington campus. Chiamaka has an immense passion for women's health. She is currently a part of ongoing research projects about maternal mortality related to intimate partner violence, substance use, and mental health disorders. Chiamaka is also the president of a club called MOMS, which stands for Medical Students Offering Maternal Support. This group focuses on ways to provide support to pregnant mothers, provide education to women regardless of their reproductive status, and provide resources such as prenatal vitamins, contraception, and sanitary pads. Chiamaka aspires to become an OBGYN who practices effective communication with her patients.
