Kelsi Perttula is an Assistant Professor in Public Health at Cal State East Bay. She earned her PhD in Environmental Health Sciences from UC Berkeley. Her dissertation and immediate post-doc work was centered around molecular epidemiology using biological samples from subjects in a nested case-control studies within cohort studies. More recently she has pivoted to the health effects from climate change. Currently she is studying the relationship between mental health effects from climate change and communities' vulnerable to extreme climate events.
