Kim Ku‘ulei Birnie has more than 30 years experience working in the public health arena, and with the health departments and ministries throughout the U.S.-associated Pacific Islands, engaged in program management and advocacy for Native Hawaiians and, at times, Pacific Islanders. Ms. Birnie is the communications and community engagement lead at Papa Ola Lōkahi, the Hawaiian Health Board. Throughout the COVID-10 pandemic, she led the communications and outreach efforts for the Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander Hawai‘i COVID-19 3R Team (NHPI 3R). She serves on several boards and committees—local and national—in the public health and Hawaiian communities.
