Dr. Gayle Walter is currently an Associate Professor and the Program Director for the undergraduate public health program at Allen College. Dr. Walter earned her PhD in Public Health and her Master of Public Health from Walden University. Her undergraduate degree is in health services administration. She has over 20 years of experience in higher education instructing courses in public health and health care administration. Her primary teaching interests include the social determinants of health, multicultural health, and the U.S. health care system.
She is passionate about health equity and emphasizes the importance of advocacy to her students. Known for her commitment to the profession, she has served on several boards and committees to advance the field of public health and health education. When she is not in the classroom, she enjoys live music events, kayaking, golfing, and fishing.
