Alex Scorzafava is the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for the Otsego County Department of Health, a rural county in upstate New York. He has served in this role for six years, leading emergency planning, response, and resilience initiatives. Alex earned his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from St. Bonaventure University and is pursuing a Master’s in Public Health Practice at the University at Albany. He integrates Geographic Information Systems (GIS) into preparedness and response, using dashboards, mapping, and data visualization to strengthen communication, guide decision-making, and support community resilience.
