Emily Herrington is a program manager at Texas Department of State Health Services, Center for Public Health Policy and Practice. She manages and supports early career programming designed to strengthen the public health workforce. She developed and operationalized the Texas Public Health Fellowship, a one-year training program for early career public health professionals. Before joining DSHS, Emily managed programs at the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health in Austin. She managed aspects of the DSHS Texas Mother-Friendly Worksite Program, a program focused on increasing breastfeeding rates through workplace lactation support policies. She also managed the UTHealth MCH Training Program providing continuing education for MCH professionals.
