Dr. Petteway is a public health professor/poet/scholar who integrates social epidemiology and creative arts to advance health equity, centering Black feminist and decolonial theory/methods to pursue epistemic justice in public health research/practice, including via poetry. He's been honored with multiple SOPHE paper of the year awards, a national poetry month prize, and selections as finalist/short/long-listed for various other poetry prizes. He's founding co-associate editor of the first-ever peer-reviewed poetry section in a public health journal (HPP).
